Doors

A weak door can be kicked in, so all outside and security doors need to be strong enough to prevent a beak-in. This means they should be of solid construction, preferably metal or metal-lined. Glass doors should have break-resistant glass installed.

The door jams should also be solid to prevent forced entry.

'Pin-in' hinges should be used to prevent removal. If the door jam is not as strong as the door it could be forced.

If a padlock is used to secure a door, then it should be case-hardened steel with bolt-mounted hasps to prevent removal. Also, always keep it locked toe prevent and offender from switching the lock when open.
