Windows

A burglar can gain access to a business through a window if it is not properly secured. Windows should have secure locks and burglar-resistant glass treatment. High-risk windows should have grates to prevent entry.

A clear view into the building through a window is important. Avoid signs or window displays that obstruct sight.

Displays of expensive and tempting merchandise should be removed from windows when the store is closed. Read our special topic on Hot Products to see what criminals like best.
