Service Stations

Gasoline service stations are very similar to convenience stores. Much of the information about convenience stores will be helpful for service stations. In addition to the store employees, the attendants are also at risk. Full-service attendants may be at risk of robbery because they have cash on them and are alone with the customer.

Service station attendant robberies may be prevented:

Make it known that the attendants carry only a small amount of cash, reducing the portential reward for the robber.

The pump areas should be well lit and visible from inside the store.

Have at least two employees working. If one is confronted with a problem, the other can call the police.

Video cameras may deter criminals from robbing the store or attendant.
